What would you do as a Skilled Assembler

At Bench Dogs, we are seeking skilled Assemblers with a knack for precision woodworking and intricate wood assembly. Our ideal candidate will excel in taking projects from concept to completion, demonstrating expertise in fabricating complex jigs, displays, and prototypes using various equipment. Operating production machinery and utilizing tools like drill presses, chop-saws, and battery-powered drivers are second nature to our Skilled Assemblers. Proficiency in basic laminating and trimming techniques, as well as the ability to identify wood species and match laminates, are crucial.

To excel in the role of a Skilled Assembler at Bench Dogs, several key skills are essential. You must possess the ability to fabricate intricate jigs, displays, and prototypes from scratch, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools effectively. Proficiency in basic laminating and trimming tasks, coupled with a keen eye for detail to maintain and surpass quality standards, is crucial.

The role requires competence in using measuring tools in decimal, fractional, and metric systems, showcasing mechanical aptitude for smooth operation of production equipment. A successful Skilled Assembler at Bench Dogs should be able to interpret drawings in both Standard and Metric measurements, identify wood species, and match laminates accurately. Strong time management skills, coupled with a detail-oriented approach to work, will be key to thriving in this position.

The ability to work both independently and as a team player is also essential for seamless collaboration within our manufacturing team.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Ability to fabricate complex jigs, displays, and prototypes from raw materials
