JOB TITLE:                           Maintenance Specialist

DEPARTMENT:                   Facilities

SUPERVISED BY:                Director of Facilities

 

 

SUMMARY:


The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety standards and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.


 EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:


  1. High school diploma or GED preferred
  2. 5+ years of maintenance experience
  3. Valid Driver's License - Driving record must be in good standing - CDL is a plus.
  4. Experience with plumbing and electrical systems required
  5. Experience with the assembly & repair of various equipment
  6. HVAC system experience - Chillers & AC Units
  7. Ability to communicate well with management and other clinic staff
  8. Willingness to uphold company standards for safety and efficiency
  9. Willingness to work at multiple SWLA locations. 


 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Able to use equipment and tools such as hammers, paint, repair drywall, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, plungers etc.
  2. Cleans bathrooms, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, as needed.  Makes rounds to ensure cleanliness of the facility during the day at least every 2-3 hours.
  3. Repairs minor leaks, unplugging toilets and drains, etc.
  4. Change light bulbs, ballast, batteries, doorknobs, hang mounts, pictures, and other general duties as needed.
  5. Change air filters or belts on HVAC & AC Units. 
  6. Empties and decontaminates trash containers at the beginning of the evening clinic and as needed. 
  7. At times - Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
  8. Maintain facility signage as needed
  9. Cleans contaminated rooms when necessary, during clinic hours.
  10. Prepares monthly light and fire extinguisher checks and assures forwarding to compliance department by the 10th of the month.
  11. Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various cleaning tasks.
  12. Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning all areas as needed for spills.
  13. Decontaminates, and cleans examination areas when needed.
  14. Maintains equipment; reports need for painting and minor building or equipment repair to supervisor and performs as necessary.
  15. Move office furniture and examination beds or other furniture when requested.
  16. Maintains parking lot cleanliness daily and performs other related duties on the grounds when assigned.
  17. Performs many varied custodial tasks necessary for the upkeep of buildings and grounds.
  18. Contact specialists on maintenance related projects when requested and submit quote(s) to supervisor.
  19. Communicates with vendors in order to facilitate outside needed repairs and helps coordinate services
  20. Documents appropriately work order request forms for assigned task completed.
  21. Perform other duties as requested.
