SUMMARY:

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with the laboratory’s existing and prospective clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify new potential new clients/referral sources
  • Build and execute an annual marketing plan and prepare quarterly updates
  • Schedule introductory meetings with potential clients
  • Assist with onboarding of new clients
  • Build relationships with key employees among customers/patients/referral sources
  • Collaborate closely with team members to retain excellent relationships with current clients
  • Schedule regular meetings with referral sources to ensure they are satisfied
  • Conduct periodic client surveys
  • Act as point of contact for complaints and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Maintain detailed database regarding existing and potential clients
  • Study competition to find new ways to retain customers
  • Assist with maintenance of lab’s web site content
  • Maintain open lines of communication with referral sources and team
  • Meet individual goals in a manner that is compliant with all federal, state and governing requirements.
  • Attend local and national professional organization events as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned.
  • Maintain professional licensure/certifications as applicable.
  • Travel to other jobs or office locations as applicable.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Burning desire to land business and build book of business.
  • Great at customer service, remain involved with client relations to protect book of business.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficient computer skills in Windows, Excel and other related software
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment and cooperate with all departments

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience as an outside Sales Rep
  • One year of healthcare experience
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite and general office equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and medical equipment.
  • Ability to sit for long periods

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, vendors, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis. The position may cause frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
