Please note, this position is temporary with expected employment through December 31, 2025.
Tree House is relentless in its pursuit of excellence, crafting and delivering the best products on earth and providing the most gratifying guest experience possible. We are competitive, start everything with a beginner's mind, and look for strong, capable, forward-thinking people to support this approach.
The Assistant Retail Manager will be responsible for providing the best customer service down to the last detail, developing teams, and ensuring business success. The successful individual is expected to perform all of the tasks and activities associated with managing Tree House’s Hospitality environment, leading personnel and operations in the Prudential Center pop-up. This must be an individual who has initiative, can get up to speed on our culture and processes quickly, takes pride in minor details, and understands their impact within the Tree House ecosystem. This is a full-time position that will regularly work nights, weekends and holidays, with possible travel to our other locations on occasion.
Management Expectations - At Tree House, we have a lot of guests, and each of them deserves and expects the very best from us. This requires hard work, unrelenting focus, and a continued desire to evolve and improve. Since 2011, our culture has been one of energy and passion for the individual Tree House Experience, one guest at a time. We are looking for those who can think on the fly, project optimism, and a can-do attitude for the teams they lead. Tree House is a challenging environment best suited to those who maintain a customer-forward, energetic demeanor in the face of high customer volume and daily pivots. You must demonstrate that you can thrive in this uniquely busy environment.
Below are a few of what we refer to as “active management” responsibilities we expect of our managers:
- Management and daily operational oversight of the Tree House Prudential Center pop-up and its team
- Coordinating with the Inventory Control and Logistics team to ensure a seamless transfer of product, and accurate inventory counts
- Motivating and inspiring the team to consistently deliver the highest standards of care to the guest experience in each and every interaction they encounter with a guest.

- Assisting in hiring, onboarding, training & development of staff
- Promoting the constant evolution of professional development with the retail team members, coordinating with the HR team to schedule periodic training as needed.
- Evaluate, adjust and improve training systems, to encourage superior product knowledge and salesmanship.
- Ensure safety of the facility, the team members working within it and our guests. Being mindful of safety risks operationally, safety with respect to guest interactions and alcohol consumption.
- Actively identify areas for operational improvement and use effective communication and professional tact when promoting those ideas to leadership.
- Organizing and reorganizing the guest-facing information and ensuring all pricing, signage, order cards, product availability, and displays are correct and consistent at all times.
Leadership Responsibilities - Strive for not just accountability but true ownership of your space. In your position as a leader, your role should not simply be a means to an end. If you don’t feel a sense of personal obligation to all facets of your role, then this isn’t the organization for you.
- Leads and upholds accountability with all team members - from policies to best practices - enforce the standards of the business at all times.
- Remains open to ideas by listening to others and objectively considering others’ ideas and opinions, even when they conflict with one’s own.

- Fosters a deeper sense of purpose for team members as it relates to Tree House’s overall mission and vision.
- Leads by example and promotes a positive, engaged attitude, efficiency, strong work ethic, and initiative.
- Embraces resistance to change and finds ways to eliminate the resistance through understanding employee motivation.
- Treats change and new situations as opportunities for learning or growth, focusing on the beneficial aspects of change; speaks positively about the change to others and readily tries new approaches appropriate for new or changed situations; does not persist with ineffective efforts.
- Works tenaciously toward and derives satisfaction from achieving challenging goals; pitches in where required without regard to status.
- Finds ways to provide your team members with growth and development opportunities, working with HR to pursue career paths for high-achieving individuals.
- Actively puts self in unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations in order to learn; takes on challenging or unfamiliar assignments.
Role Requirements:

- Associate or bachelor's degree (preferred) in hospitality, hospitality management, business administration or any other relevant field.
- Strong business acumen - policy and protocol adherence, product knowledge, labor costs, and overall operational know-how.
- Uncompromising desire for quality - we put the highest premium on quality of product, guest experience, and team member satisfaction.
- Operational excellence - we strive for a culture where management and team members are invested in business outcomes and are empowered to drive positive change. We see this as an ongoing journey, rather than a destination, where we are always setting new goals to continue to improve.
- Critical thinking - problems arise on the fly and this role requires someone who can evaluate the most pressing issues and show good judgment and integrity in executing a solution.
- Results driven - arriving at a finish line takes a lot of effort, focus, and hard (and smart) work. Being results-driven requires the ability to make great, informed decisions, always have a contingency plan in mind, and oversee the progress of multiple action items simultaneously, in order to make things happen.
- Adaptability - Change is constant, and our dynamic workforce navigates uncertainty, challenges the status quo, and moves forward despite adversity. Never stop evolving. Never stop learning. Never stop embracing the cutting edge.
