David Zwirner New York's Communications team seeks an intern to help with day-to-day operations, collaborating on both daily goals and larger creative endeavors. This position offers hands-on experience with an established gallery dedicated to advancing its artists, programming, and ever-expanding platforms to the forefront of the contemporary dialogue.

This role will include assisting the team with daily tasks–such as updating media reports, creating press packages, administrative support, and archive maintenance–as well as supporting special events, such as press previews and artist walkthroughs.

This internship program will include a larger educational component with targeted meetings with the team dedicated to the cultivation of a myriad of PR + Communications skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the production of media reports, both internally and externally for artist studios and estates as necessary
  • Assist in monitoring and clipping daily media alerts on incoming press for all gallery artists and estates
  • Actively research, expand, and maintain our roster of media contacts
  • Maintain our growing press archive, both print and digital, including organizational and research-based projects
  • Support press events, assisting on-site with check-in for members of the media
  • Develop a strong understanding of and relevance in industry-related matters, servicing an expansive artist roster, David Zwirner Books and Dialogues: The David Zwirner Podcast

Desired Skills:

  • General interest in the arts/larger creative arena
  • Eager to learn, self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, strong time management skills, and ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Excel, and Google Docs is a plus but not a requirement

Fall internship cycle runs from approximately Tuesday, September 3rd - Friday, December 13th. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of three months. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, 5 days per week. Internship is paid at NYC minimum wage of $16/hour. Candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
