We are seeking an experienced and results oriented Sales Manager to join our newly created National Accounts and digital sales team, focusing on driving sales growth through Ingram, Baker & Taylor and Raincoast. This role will involve developing strategic sales plans, managing key accounts, and collaborating with internal teams to maximize revenue. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of these distribution channels and demonstrate a proven ability to maximize sales performance. The role is primarily responsible for Adult and Children’s Trade titles with some Academic oversight.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for Ingram, Baker & Taylor and Raincoast, managing day-to-day relationships and communications
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and surpass sales targets with Ingram, Baker & Taylor and Raincoast
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and adjust strategies to optimize sales and profitability
  • Collaborate with marketing and editorial teams to create compelling promotional campaigns
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences within wholesaler channels
  • Work with the operations team to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment of inventory through Ingram, Baker & Taylor and Raincoast
  • Monitor and manage listings, ensuring accurate product information and availability
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and growth opportunities
  • Utilize analytics tools to track sales trends, campaign performance, and customer behaviors within these distribution channels
  • Visit accounts twice yearly
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience ideally with direct experience of sales to wholesalers
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Location

Candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area, and be able to work in person 2 days per week.
