As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Purchasing Manager to join our team.

Position Overview: The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, services, and equipment necessary for our construction projects. This role will also involve supervising one other team member, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the purchasing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project managers to forecast future needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, evaluating performance and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Review and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to track expenditures and prepare cost analyses.
  • Supervise and mentor a purchasing assistant, providing training and support as needed.
  • Stay updated on market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing within the construction or home building industry.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
