This position is located at (VSFB) Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.


This position is not eligible for telecommuting

Essential Functions
  • Perform in console operator positions during real-time operations and launch support as assigned
  • Develop and revise vehicle specific configuration files for the Centralized Telemetry Processing System in accordance with range safety requirements and operational directives
  • Provide a coordinated team support posture utilizing telemetry requirements documents, published operational directives and applicable vehicle specifications
  • Utilize checklists, procedures, technical orders, and other documentation during file development and operational/launch support
  • Assist with evaluation and analysis of telemetry data displays and recordings
  • Review and provide feedback on range support documentation
  • Obtain qualification and maintain proficiencies on assigned training packages
  • Support training/development of junior staff and provide support to team/staff members as directed
  • Coordinate with operations and attend/support briefings and meetings where applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills; possess a detail-oriented work inclination, capable of multi-tasking, and working in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and data interpretation skills
  • Ability to be an integral member of the team and work in a self-directed environment
Required Experience
  • Associate’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related-field or equivalent technical school certificate, related military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) or more years of experience performing critical thinking, analysis, and/or problem-solving related work
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
  • An understanding of IRIG 106 telemetry standards is preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs
  • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $33.68 to $41.98.
