We seek an experienced fire alarm technician with NICET certification, adept at handling all aspects of fire alarm systems as well as strong familiarity with security cameras, alarms, and access control systems. Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field.


Compensation:

     $37 per hour


Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week with limited overtime.
  • Regular hours are typically from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on customer needs.
  • Occasionally, there may be a requirement for emergency calls.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform, without supervision, comprehensive fire alarm inspections, encompassing testing, repairs.. Proficiency with Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, and Simplex equipment is essential.
  • Substantial experience working with and ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of low voltage systems such as security systems, access control and CCTV.
  • Willingness to provide training to colleagues and supervise fire alarm and low-voltage vendors.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with low-voltage equipment and a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Proficiency with normal medium-voltage equipment is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the commercial fire alarm field is mandatory.
  • Current NICET Fire Alarm System Level II Certification or higher is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and insurability to drive a company vehicle is required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when occasionally necessary, with minimal overtime.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check required for employment because of our work with educational facilities.

 

Physical:

  • This position involves approximately 25% outdoor and 75% indoor work, often requiring extended periods of standing.  Because of the size of our campuses, the job will require significant walking and climbing of stairs.
  • Ability to work on lifts, scaffolding, ladders, as well as in crawl spaces and other confined areas.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Job tasks may involve climbing, bending, reaching, standing, walking, and working in noisy environments.
  • Ability to work in smoke-free environments

This position requires a smartphone. SFM will provide a phone, however, if the employee decides to continue using their personal phone for SFM business we will pay an allowance of $30 per month
