About Us

The infant/toddler program serves children from the age of six weeks until the age two years and eight months. The program is designed to promote feelings of belonging and loving care which help our youngest group of children to grow and develop to their full potential. Our preschool program serves children aged 2.5-4 years and is designed to meet the overall needs of preschoolers, and facilitate their development through age-appropriate experiences. Adelbrook Hilltop is a full child care center and provides extended care for school age children between the hours of 6:30am-9am and 3:30pm-5:30pm. Our School Age Program offers a time for children to finish homework, enjoy outdoor time, read, play or create art.

Job Summary:

The Ädelbrook Hilltop Pre-school and Daycare Center Lead Teacher is responsible for the general supervision and management of pre-school and daycare classes for children between the ages of two years and ten months and five years of age. This is a non-exempt position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning, supervising, and implementing the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophies of the school
  • Gearing the program to the needs of the individual children with concern for their interests, handicaps, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert to tend to the needs and/or problems of the children, as individuals and as a group
  • Plan Curriculum in detail for assigned classes
  • Implement the daily program with the help of Teacher’s Assistant
  • Prepare snacks and sit with children to supervise them while eating snack
  • Keep classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly
  • Be familiar with and follow Hilltop/Adelbrook policies and procedures
  • Report and special needs or concerns related to individual children to the director
  • Report any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect to the director
  • Keep Director informed of program needs and parent concerns.
  • Treating children with respect and dignity
  • Helping children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group
  • Help children develop a love and awareness of God and God’s creation and Jesus, as a loving friend
  • Being responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the classroom
  • Decorate the classrooms with bulletin boards, children’s art, and other items for display
  • Write and send home regular Parent Newsletters
  • Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and being responsible for in-service staff meeting each school year

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:

The person selected for the position of Lead Teacher must be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in the field of Early Childhood Education or Development and must be able to meet the requirements of the licensing agency. This person must be sensitive and mature, and able to relate well both to children and adults. This person must have the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
