As the assistant operations manager you will be responsible for supervising staff performance and operation processes under the guidance of the operations manager. You will play a pivotal role assisting in leading and overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing management, a proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description: Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited, to the following. Please note other duties may be assigned accordingly.
- Hold daily production meetings or huddles to prioritize jobs scheduled in all departments for the assigned equipment. Prioritize according to job tracker and known Service Level Agreements for each job.
- Work with the maintenance department to receive feedback on machines or status of machines that are not in operation.
- Assign jobs to operators dependent upon operational needs. Assign floaters & back-ups as needed.
- Walk the production floor for safety check, equipment check, and personnel acknowledgements throughout the day.
- Ensure Daily Production files are processed as scheduled and per established SLA. Exceptions or concerns should be brought to Management's attention.
- Continuously spot check all departments for quality concerns/variances. Review and compare work orders to spot checks for QA purposes.
- Conduct monthly meetings with Management to discuss production numbers, report cards, areas of improvement, and employee highlights.
- Comply with all current and future security and compliance requirements.
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing operations, enhance efficiency, and achieve organizational goals.
Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing operations team, including production managers, supervisors, and support staff.
Operational Excellence: Drive a culture of operational excellence, implementing best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Resource Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop production plans, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer demands.
Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets, controlling costs while optimizing production efficiency and maintaining quality standards.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols, working closely with regulatory bodies as needed.
Supply Chain Collaboration: Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize material procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships.
Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to enhance manufacturing processes, improve data analytics, and drive automation where applicable.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the continuity of manufacturing operations.

- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Must possess the ability to document, train, and implement processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
- Function as a team member of the entire production operation. Train on each machine in each department to become an expert in the department. Must have a complete understanding and ability to execute operation of all equipment in the production
- Training and instructional skills.
- Willingness to accept direction from Management and relay those directions to others.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must pass a background check.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Education/Experience:
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) of management, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities.
