Operations Manager Job Description

Hood Distribution is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Durham, CT facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, order processing, billing, and delivery schedules
  • Oversee equipment leases, routine maintenance, and necessary repairs on trucks, warehouse equipment, and mill equipment
  • Ensure DOT compliance and monitor operational costs to ensure operations are within budget
  • Provide supervisory guidance, coaching, and training to center employees
  • Assure that all employees receive proper training and maintain their skills in equipment operation
  • Make all employees safety-minded and ensure that all drivers are properly licensed and trained
Requirements:
  • Experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, or a related field
  • Specific knowledge of safe fleet operations and warehouse operations
  • Forklift operator/trainer certification preferred but not required
