Position Summary:


The purpose of this position is to support Wabanaki Center for Research, Knowledge and Innovation by providing support in coordination and administrative efforts related to research projects and data analysis. This person will manage meetings, work groups and other needed sessions to ensure that agendas are complied, minutes are maintained, and teams updated on next steps. They will work closely with the Project staff to ensure that timelines are established and milestones being reached. They will then coordinate with Research, Evaluation and Data team members to ensure grant deliverables are being met in a timely manner and assist with projects as needed. The research coordinator will work directly within the Native American Research Center for Health center grant. The successful candidate will have experience with secure and ethically sound data storage procedures and will demonstrate capacity for cultural humility and competence. This position is full time, 40 hours per week and is a grant funded position. 


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate partner meetings and maintain notes from each meeting.
  • Assist with specific aims for NARCH grant areas as needed.
  • Conduct survey and screenings as needed.
  • Facilitate and coordinate CITI or equivalent trainings for surveyors.
  • Purchase materials, equipment, or other resources.
  • Promote products, services, or programs.
  • Take meeting minutes for Research, Knowledge and Innovation meetings.
  • Assist with creating and distributing agendas for meetings.
  • Assist with data cleaning and data analysis/visualization.
  • Scheduling time for surveys, or follow ups as necessary.
  • Assist in coordination of staff trainings and follow-ups.
  • Dispersion of research/data materials (educational and outreach).
  • Collaborate with the communications team on research/data materials (education and outreach).
  • Assist with community health improvement plans.
  • Support community-based meetings and events, as directed.
  • Attend public health trainings and research/data-based trainings, as needed.
  • Participate in other research/data related work as needed.


Education and Experience Required:


  • University degree or college diploma in public health, health, education, or related field OR;
  • Four (4) years of experience in public health, health, education, youth-serving profession, or a related field.
  • High level attention to detail and organization to ensure tight deadlines are met.
  • Knowledge of research principles, techniques and practices and their application to clinical research.
  • Understanding of scientific method.
  • Experience in research coordination preferred.
  • Experience working in Tribal Communities.

  

Skills and Qualifications Required:


  • Knowledge, skills, and experience working with data systems. 
  • Skills/experience with scientific-technical writing.
  • CITI training certified or within 4 months of hire.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • A strong work ethic and enthusiasm.
  • Willingness to travel; a good driving record and access to reliable transportation are required.
  • All candidates must pass a criminal background check.
