Job Description

BidFTA is a fast paced yet progressive work environment that is growing and expanding. The person needed for this position is excited and passionate about their impact on the business and the team they lead. The General Manager is responsible for the daily operations of a combined auction pick up center and a warehouse/production facility. This role requires a strong leader who will be hands-on with the day-to-day operations, but also helps to drive the overall company strategy. You’ll need to build and maintain relationships with managers, hourly employees, carrier partners, vendors, and various departments in the company. Successful General Managers are highly motivated to seek improvements and drive results every single day.



Key Responsibilities:


Logistics Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes to meet company goals.
  • Plan and coordinate the efficient transportation and distribution of goods.

Transportation Management:

  • Manage inbound and outbound transportation operations, including selecting carriers and negotiating contracts.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Supplier & Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with carriers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or delays.

Cost Management & Optimization:

  • Monitor and control logistics costs, identifying areas for cost reduction.
  • Analyze logistics data and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and manage logistics budgets, providing regular reports to senior management.

Customer Service & Communication:

  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and address any logistics-related issues.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on logistics performance and delivery status.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related area.
  • Proven experience in managing logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Technological literacy - Experience using an IOS device (iPad) is a plus but not required as training will be provided.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment – Non temperature-controlled environment, lifting items/boxes overhead, standing for extended periods of time, squatting, ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
