Summary of duties: Responsible for analyzing patient accounts, assisting with questions, payments and following up on outstanding patient balances.

Duties & Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform job-related functions.

  • · Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their accounts. Make the patient the priority.
  • · Contact patients via phone, email, or mail to collect payment for services rendered.
  • · Review and analyze patient accounts receivable to identify outstanding balances.
  • · Resolve any billing or payment discrepancies with patients, insurance companies, or other third-party payers.
  • · Educate patients on insurance coverage and payment options, ensuring they understand their financial responsibilities.
  • · Collaborate with Insurance and Legal accounts receivable teams.
  • · Monitor and follow up on outstanding patient balances, applying appropriate collection strategies as needed.
  • · Update patient records and billing systems with accurate and up-to-date information.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Skills/Experience:

  • · Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
  • · Knowledge of computer programs.
  • · Knowledge of business office procedures.
  • · Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
  • · Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
  • · Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • · Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • · Must be well organized and detail oriented.

Environmental/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.

Physical Demands: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity is needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard. This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements. Responsibilities, skills and working conditions may change as needs evolve.

Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday – Friday
