Job Description

Jr. Davis Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager and project team to drive and coordinate the various processes of heavy civil construction projects.
  • Schedule Management: Maintain certain aspects of the project schedule by managing submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining schedules and budgets.
  • Design and Planning: Manage work schedules and coordinate design changes and/or plan revisions with the project owners.
  • Project Requirements: Regularly consult field operations, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Contract Management: Compile subcontractors' bids and estimates and distribute contract documents at the project site for input from Management.
  • Project Oversight: Work with and directly under the Project Management to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Safety and Compliance: Oversee and ensure Safety Policies are followed, and assist the Project Manager with project setup and closeout.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Process & Track all Submittals & RFIs (including logs), and create & Maintain Project CPM Schedule w/logic input from Project Management and Field Operations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Assist Project Operations with two-week Look Ahead schedules, and coordinate with Survey with project issues requiring survey involvement and or RFI request.
  • Quality Control: Confirm that the contract drawings are correctly conformed to EOR revisions, RFI's, and or CSI modifications, etc.
  • Financial Management: Assist Project Manager with quarterly Look Ahead Schedules/Projected resource needs, and provide accurate quantities from the field with assistance from the project superintendent for billing and cost control, projections, and cost to complete support.
  • Teamwork and Problem-Solving: Assist with reviewing Labor and Equipment reports with field personnel related to budget, and assist in scheduling, tracking, and coordinating subcontractors and permeant materials deliveries.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented office and field environment.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Creative problem-solving, with the ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and subcontractors.
