LIVE EVENTS ELECTRICIAN

Flyspace Productions is a full-service, woman-owned event management and production company. We produce some of the largest festivals and live events in the region, in addition to numerous private, corporate, and community events. We provide our clients with support from a full-service, in-house Production Department that provides technical equipment including concert audio, lighting, truss, and rigging, as well as the largest fleet of Stageline Mobile Stages on the East Coast. Our Creative Department provides exceptional expertise in festival production, event planning, brand activations, and fine art installation.

We are seeking a full-time, Live Events Electrician to manage both the in-office technical planning and onsite execution of temporary power infrastructure. This work would include working with high voltage power systems and distribution, including for live concerts, festivals, vendors, events, and more. Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • 2+ years of previous experience in theater, events, concerts, or other production background.
  • Experience with electrical equipment including generators, distros, cabling, etc.
  • Knowledge of code requirements for temporary power systems, including 3-phase systems.
  • Experience working with technicians from other disciplines (audio, lighting) and the ability to assist them with identifying their power needs.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include long hours and irregular times, including weekends, nights, and some holidays
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a PA DOT Med Card

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience deploying temporary power infrastructure onsite in a city environment.
  • ETCP certification
  • Experience towing vehicles and equipment.
  • Experience with operating heavy equipment such as lifts, front loaders, forklifts, etc.
  • An understanding of artistic processes and the ability to work closely with clients diplomatically and professionally.

 

Work Setting & Physical Exertion:

  • Position requires regular exposure to outdoor elements and loud noise.
  • Position requires the use of basic hand tools and electrical tools.
  • Position works with electrical components.
  • Incumbent will be required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Incumbent will be required to travel to work sites as needed.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.
  • Incumbent must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and climb stairs
