This position reports to the Supply Chain Director.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
  • Schedules usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels.
  • Evaluates suppliers or quality, timeliness and match according to goals.
  • Monitors material supply flow and identifies any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
  • Forecast market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends.
  • Address all issues regarding quality and production.
  • Manage deadlines based on project expectations.
  • Estimates the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
  • Promptly addresses and resolves production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Coordinates production workflow for one or multiple products in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Recommends viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Predicts how long a project will take to complete.
  • Organizes project paperwork, including purchase orders and maintains records.
  • Troubleshoots
  • Effects changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Compiles status and performance reports and submits them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informs the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Plans and prioritizes operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Determines manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Assigns workers and other staff to particular production operations.
  • Reviews open sales orders to determine customer requirements.
  • Utilize ERP systems to auto-generate manufacturing work orders.
  • Release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking.
  • Coordinates between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Notifies sales of any schedule impacts to customers.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Monitors jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Obtains output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.)
  • Prepares and submits status and performance reports.
  • Keeps paperwork organized.
  • Continues to improve effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives using capacity panning toll, staged kits and production schedule.
  • Responds to termination or cancellation requests from Sales and Program Managers.
  • Reviews in process orders from Production floor.
  • Collaborates with Quality Control, Warehouse and other staff.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a production planner/scheduler.
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  • Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning).
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • Good at math ad statistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Meticulous and diligent.
  • Decisiveness.
  • Stress management skills.
  • Highly developed attention to details.
  • Good understanding of the industry market trends and conditions.
  • High school diploma required; further education or certification is preferred.
