Arlington, United States BMNT Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

About BMNT

In this role, you will join a rapidly growing innovation consulting firm, BMNT, Inc., headquartered in Palo Alto, CA with an east coast office in Arlington, VA. BMNT is unique because of the focus on Mission Acceleration - increasing the speed at which mission-driven organizations solve complex problems at scale. BMNT is not only an established thought leader in innovation but is actively changing how organizations think about and solve problems, as demonstrated by the creation of Hacking for Defense (H4D) ®. Our customers span across the U.S. public sector, and abroad in the United Kingdom and Australia.

About the Role

BMNT is hiring a Senior Project Analyst to support our Transportation Security Administration Chief Innovation Officer (CInO). This specific role resides on the BMNT Growth Team. BMNT, in support of the CInO team, is striving to build a culture of innovation within TSA that anticipates and rapidly counters the changing landscape across the transportation security system. The TSA CInO team strives to meet this responsibility through innovation and the discovery and development of new, creative ideas that result in effective, game changing technologies and processes to address security challenges.

Senior Analysts play an integral role in the consultative process that forms the basis for everything we do for our customers, and they drive various aspects and key decision points within the project lifecycle, including planning facilitated workshops and product development. A significant portion of the Senior Analyst role is to oversee problem curation — a specialized tradecraft developed by BMNT to help our customers validate problems worth spending time, energy, and resources to solve — and how it fits into the broader system of innovation at BMNT. A high-performing Senior Analyst will therefore demonstrate expertise in everything we do at BMNT, and is able to effectively communicate BMNT's competitive advantage in order to build credibility and trust with our customers.

Location: This is a Hybrid position with the expectation of being in the office two to three days per week. Weeks with in-person engagements may require more time in the office or travel to other sites in the DC area to include TSA Headquarters located in Springfield, VA.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Executes problem curation to a high standard and oversees analysts in the conduct of curation workflows.
  • Identifies secondary and tertiary problems and opportunities that BMNT could address for customers.
  • Establishes strong relationships with TSA internal and external stakeholders through developing a positive connection and trust with customers and demonstrates credibility to them.
  • Manages workflows and delegates tasks across CInO teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Quickly understands the scope and root of a problem, synthesizes and analyzes data, and presents findings in a clear, succinct, and polished manner.
  • Conducts independent research and develops project plans that reflect customer needs and the ability to enlist the help from other team members.
  • Balances creativity and discipline while applying methodological rigor to their work.
  • Writes well, with very little correction needed from others.
  • Responds to customer communications in a timely and professional manner.

Experience and Qualifications You'll Need to Thrive in the Role:

  • Bachelor's Degree or related work experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • At least four to five years of relevant professional experience or two years as a BMNT Analyst.
  • A self-starter with an obsession for outcomes, not activities and history of achievements.
  • The ability to provide — in written or verbal form — valuable, succinct, and actionable insights from complicated information.
  • Humility and a commitment to self-improvement and self-awareness, including proactively seeking and welcoming constructive feedback from colleagues.
  • Curiosity and an always-be-learning attitude, including recognizing when help is needed and seeking new ideas or perspectives to accomplish an objective.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize many concurrent tasks.
  • The patience and creativity to overcome barriers to success.
  • Excitement for BMNT's mission

If you are a self-starter with an obsession for outcomes, not activities and a history of achievements, and enjoy working on projects with collaborative and creative teams, this could be the right role for you

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
