Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Unisys or IBM Mainframe Developer with expertise in COBOL to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have experience with Unisys mainframe environments and a preference for Unisys mainframe systems, although IBM mainframe experience is also acceptable. This role requires a security clearance of MBI or higher, and candidates must be US citizens, Green Card holders, or Permanent Residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mainframe Development:
    • Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • System Management:
    • Perform system administration tasks on Unisys mainframe environments.
    • Optimize mainframe applications for performance and efficiency.
  • Migration and Integration:
    • Assist in the migration of applications from Unisys to IBM mainframe systems, if required.
    • Integrate mainframe applications with other systems and platforms.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure all mainframe applications and systems comply with security standards and protocols.
    • Maintain security documentation and adhere to security clearance requirements.
  • Maintenance and Support:
    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for mainframe applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience with COBOL programming in a mainframe environment.
  • Proficiency in Unisys mainframe systems.
  • Experience with Unisys mainframe is preferred; IBM mainframe experience is acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe application development, testing, and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a security clearance of MBI or higher.
  • Must be a US citizen, Green Card holder, or Permanent Resident.
  • Experience with system administration tasks on Unisys mainframe environments.
