Job DescriptionJob Description

Our Health Information Associate monitors the release of confidential information in accordance with rules and regulations. They process requests for confidential patient health information internally within the organization, as well as outside sources such as attorneys, adjusters, and medical center requests. Duties may also include processing subpoenas, filing records, assisting in audits, and collecting information.

After candidates complete a success orientation period, this is a hybrid position consisting of 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.

Essential Functions:

  • Fulfill internal and external requests for confidential patient health information
  • Communicate both internally and externally with regards to patient’s health records requests for information
  • Process Subpoena’s in a timely manor
  • Communicate with Worker’s Compensation Adjusters and Attorney’s as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies:

  • Excellent Communication Skills and typing skills
  • Proficient in EMR Software (Exscribe a plus)
  • Familiar with Health Information rules and regulations
  • Customer/Client Focus
  • Attention to Detail

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  3. Experience with Electronic Medical Records

Physical Demands:

  • Requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching and periodic lifting of up to 25 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to converse and hear.
  • Requires normal (corrected) vision.
  • Requires coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
