Scope:


The Director of Human Resources will lead and direct the comprehensive functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including strategic HR business partnering, talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits management, and compliance. This role will focus on developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals, managing HR initiatives, and ensuring legal compliance. A critical requirement for this role is extensive experience in HR within the manufacturing sector.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Partner with the VP, Corporate Human Resources to develop and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Lead strategic business transformations and derive HR roadmaps to support organizational goals.
  • Moderate critical discussions related to talent development and leadership excellence.
  • Analyze large sets of data to draw meaningful inferences. Provide HR metrics to management and executive teams regularly, ensuring results align with company goals and values.
  • Prepare month-end reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Coordinate interviews and assist with the hiring process. Manage the full employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Recruiter regarding the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, especially for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
  • Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Advise management on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administer performance review programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization. Assist in company policy creation and handbook updates.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Plan in-house and off-site activities, such as year-end celebrations.
  • Create employee programs to promote well-being in the workplace.
  • Develop and strengthen company culture.
  • Maintain and improve retention rates for employees through appropriate total compensation, recognition, and communication of key benefits.
  • In partnership with the leadership team, build and integrate diversity strategies across HR programs.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that promote a sense of belonging and community.
  • Develop partnerships with external organizations and community groups to enhance community engagement.
  • Lead change management efforts related to HR programs, organizational initiatives, and cultural transformation, ensuring the preservation of core culture and values.
  • Work on special projects in support of HR initiatives that align with company priorities.
  • Participate in periodic executive and departmental meetings, reporting on key HR matters, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements:

Essential Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in (or foreign equivalent) in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Center of Competence or HR business partnering role, with demonstrated HR people management experience.
  • Must have HR experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in strategic business transformations, talent development, leadership excellence, and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to coordinate initiatives and tasks across multiple sites.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 10%.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
