Position: Program Assistant (Client Navigator)


Classification: Administrative


Scope:

David's Loft Clinical Programs is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Navigator to assist clients in navigating the intake process. The ideal candidate will have excellent listening skills, empathy, critical thinking, and patience to support clients as they begin their recovery journey.

Status: Non-exempt 

Responsibilities: 


Client Intake Assistance:

  1. Guide clients through the initial intake process, ensuring they understand each step and feel supported.
  2. Collect and verify necessary documentation and information from clients.
  3. Provide clear explanations of program policies, procedures, and expectations.

Client Support:

  1. Offer empathetic and non-judgmental support to clients, addressing their concerns and questions.
  2. Listen actively to clients' needs and provide appropriate guidance and resources.
  3. Assist clients in understanding their treatment options and help them make informed decisions.
  4. Make sure that clients are comfortable by making/offering a sandwich and/or a snack as needed.

Coordination and Communication:

  1. Liaise with clinical staff, counselors, and other team members to ensure seamless coordination of care for clients.
  2. Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, keeping them informed of their progress and any necessary next steps.
  3. Document client interactions and maintain accurate records in accordance with program guidelines.

Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:

  1. Identify potential barriers to clients' successful intake and recovery, and work to find effective solutions in real-time. 
  2. Use critical thinking skills to address complex situations and provide appropriate support and resources.
  3. Advocate for clients' needs within the program by utilizing resources provided by our organization. 

Program Promotion and Education:

  1. Educate clients about the services offered by David's Loft Clinical Programs and the benefits of participation.
  2. Promote a positive and welcoming environment that encourages clients to engage fully in their recovery journey.



Requirements and Qualifications:


  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Proven experience in a supportive, client-facing role, preferably in a healthcare or social services setting.
  3. Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically.
  4. Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to client care.
  5. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  7. Familiarity with the recovery process and substance use disorders is a plus.


Working Conditions:


  1. Full-time position with regular office hours; some flexibility may be required based on client needs.
  2. Interaction with clients in various stages of recovery, which may involve challenging and emotionally charged situations.
  3. Requires the ability to move throughout the work environment with ease. This includes but is not limited to: walking up and down stairs, standing or extended periods of time, and constant face-to-face contact with clients. 
  4. Other duties as assigned as needed to drive our organization's mission, vision, and values.

Physical Capacity:

Must be able to sit and stand for 20 minutes and lift at least 10 lbs.
