Background:

The Group develops and applies laser systems and optics in solutions of defense and other U. S. Government needs. The Group is in need of support in the building, integrating, characterizing, and testing of developmental high-power laser systems. This requisition is for engineering support to participate in the development of laser systems for high-energy lasers and laser-based sensors.


Responsibilities:

The Electro-Optical Engineer will provide support to fiber-laser-based, high-energy laser development efforts and other laser development efforts to support laser-based sensor systems. This support will include, but not limited to, laser construction, experimentation, and laser characterization under supervision of technical staff.

Must Have:-Characterization of kW-class fiber amplifiers (PER, beam quality, power, and phase noise)
-Assembly, Integration, and Alignment of Developmental High-Power Lasers and Laser Systems
-Fiber Laser / Fiber Amplifier
-High Power Laser Systems (?1kW, or some limit)
-Laser Characterization & Documentation (Power, Beam Quality, Wavelength & Temporal Waveform)
-Specifying Optics and other Components for Research and Development Laser Systems
-Use of Lasers, Optics, and/or Optical Fiber
-Fiber and Optical Routing
-Polarized Light in SM and PM fibers
