Wildcat Discoveries is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Chemistry team. This role will participate in research projects by preparing materials, executing planned experiments, and analyzing experimental data.


The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare research experiments including ordering input materials, synthesizing materials, and assembling cells, test equipment and materials as required.
  • Monitor the status of research experiments in progress, identifying unusual activity or results on a timely basis.
  • Manage experimental data files, reviewing for completeness and accuracy. Perform preliminary data processing and prepare draft data plots.
  • Rapidly scale up new energy storage materials from research quantities (grams) to customer sample quantities (kilograms), maintaining material properties and quality
  • Utilize analytical tools and equipment to characterize materials.
  • Respect others in the workplace with a professional attitude; be considerate of others with housekeeping, shared equipment; provide a safe working environment for others.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, physics or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience working in laboratory on research and development projects.
  • Experience with lithium-ion batteries preferred.
