POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Manager is responsible for identifying and implementing automation opportunities to enhance warehouse processes, designing and executing solutions to streamline operations, and supporting IDS growth. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams and third-party partners to ensure high standards of quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party partners to identify areas of investment to meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
  • Build and manage a team of highly talented engineers responsible for all aspects of engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select partners for design, automation, and execution.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Work closely with the team to meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure on-time and successful delivery.
  • Create and maintain a departmental CAPEX schedule and ensure the realization of ROI for projects.
  • Monitor the performance metrics of automation equipment to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Meet with cross-functional teams to address any operational challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Ensure multiple projects are executed on time and within budget.
  • Facilitate communication to align project objectives with organizational goals.

SECURITY

  • Complies with all company inventory control and security procedures and ensures compliance by others.
  • Possesses specific knowledge of safety protocols for the facility and customer accounts.

SAFETY

  • Complies with all government and company safety rules.
  • Is responsible for the safety of employees in their assigned area.
  • Reports promptly to supervision any safety violations of workers, safety noncompliance of facilities and equipment, and other safety issues.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7 years’ relevant 3PL work experience.

  • Strong technical expertise in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to think logically and problem-solve in order to analyze situations, troubleshoot, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
