Position Overview


The Senior Project Engineer is a key individual contributor responsible for overseeing all or part of the engineering scope within a CB&I project, ensuring the successful execution of engineering deliverables.

This role entails providing leadership and guidance to the engineering and design discipline leads on assigned projects, ultimately ensuring the integrity of the produced work. Responsibilities include administrative and technical management, as well as schedule, cost, and quantity control.

The Senior Project Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager and regularly collaborates with clients and various CB&I functions, including project management, procurement, subcontracting, and estimating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the engineering and design discipline leads on assigned projects.
  • Oversee the execution of engineering deliverables, including managing the engineering schedule, budget, document controls, and staffing.
  • Establish project procedures to ensure deliverables align with client expectations and established engineering standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication among engineering disciplines.
  • Review work with clients, management, and functional leads.
  • Identify issues and collaborate with the engineering team to implement solutions.
  • Proactively manage changes and maintain focus on CB&I's end products, whether engineering, fabrication, or construction.
  • May serve as the Project Engineering Manager for specific projects.

This position may involve managing a team of Designers (CAD operators) responsible for layout, design, and detailing of plant designs, piping systems, structural works, electrical and instrumentation, control systems, and fabrication and erection drawings for terminal and plate structures projects globally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project engineering experience in large-scale industrial projects.
