Summary:

Position conducts all direct sales efforts for assigned properties and markets through tasks and activities pertaining to accounts. Prospect various media to source and develop potential accounts as well as update and maintain all forms of account files. A Sales Manager must have excellent verbal and written skills and ability to perform direct outside sales calls. He or She must be a team player. He or She must have superior guest relations skills, and excellent telephone sales skills.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

75% Proactive Selling with excellent selling skills and understanding of the sales process

  • Perform and meet weekly sales activities to include:
    • Client appointments
    • Telesales
    • New business prospecting
    • Property Site Inspections
    • Cold Calling
    • Email solicitation
  • Grow existing accounts
  • Generate new business
  • Develop and maintain rapport with local lead generators (e.g. Top Accounts/CVB/Chamber)
  • Initiate and participate in sales calls with other management team members.

25% Administrative

  • Take initiative to develop new strategies and uncover new markets to generate sales and deploy resources.
  • Understands and participates in Revenue Management meetings
  • Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of all market segments including extended stay.
  • Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect sales.
  • Maintain accurate sales files and trace system of all accounts in company’s current CRM.
  • Recruit, hire, train, counsel and motivate department personnel on a continuing basis.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings.
