Essential Functions
- Utilizes Contract Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan/schedule maintenance work for minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
- Executes all maintenance requisitioning of equipment/parts; monitors status of materials and contract services.
- Manages spare parts program; including identification of critical inventory, optimal stock levels, min/max levels and obsolete parts
- Reviews work orders for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, correct equipment identification, realistic lead times and completion dates; discusses details with originator of the work order.
- Verifies all material, information, tools and labor are available prior to scheduling and kits parts where applicable
- Identifies potential constraints that could impact the schedule and recommends corrective action.
- Finalizes the maintenance resource schedule based on agreed plan with production.
- Provides daily updates to the schedule showing work completed, rescheduled or cancelled to ensure time to “fix it right the first time” to minimize operations downtime.
- Maintains comprehensive PM plans in CMMS; ensures PM routines are updated as needed
- Participates in project teams to replace, upgrade or expand plant equipment
- Develop and distribute all department reports.
- Ensure contractors and other visitors are informed of site safety polices and Contractor Pre-Qualification are completed.
- Fills in as a maintenance lead in the absence of the maintenance manager
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- AS in Industrial Maintenance or minimum 5 years exp experience in manufacturing maintenance with focus on material, purchasing, and maintenance planning
- Knowledge of production processes and equipment; mechanical background preferred
- Knowledge of maintenance processes; work order system, planning/scheduling and storeroom.
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS
- Requires the ability to excel in a high-speed environment and quickly adjust to evolving tasks and challenges
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
- Placement based on mechanical aptitude assessment and previous relevant work experience
- Ability to meet the following physical demands:
- Must be able to climb 5-10 flights of stairs multiple times
- Must be able to climb ladders (multiple rungs) both fixed and portable.
- Must be able to sustain overhead reaching, bending, squatting, twisting.
- Must be able to sustain continuous sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift ~50 lb, pull, and push tools/equipment with ease.
- Must be able to work in outside elements (Heat, cold, rain, snow, etc)
- Must be able to walk without assistance on various work surfaces (gravel, concrete, asphalt, grating, dirt)
- Must be able to verbally communicate via radio
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, eye protection, face shield, hearing protection, gloves, chemical suits, steel toed shoes, fall arrest).
