Position Summary:

Community Engagement Coordinator in Minneapolis, MN will play a crucial role in supporting and engaging with local volunteers and supporters to further the mission of OUR Rescue. This position involves providing resources to volunteers, assisting with events, and fostering strong relationships with volunteers and communities to empower them in their efforts to combat human trafficking and child exploitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Engagement & Support:
    • Actively engage with local volunteers to assist with their events, fundraisers, and educational efforts.
    • Provide volunteers with necessary and accurate materials, tools, and guidance to effectively support the mission of OUR Rescue.
    • Guide the volunteer ambassadors in your region and host regular trainings and meetings with them.
    • Work with Community Engagement Manager on monthly volunteer challenges.
  • Event Planning & Coordination:
    • Host semi-regular events across various locations within the state/region to facilitate in-person volunteer gatherings and training sessions.
    • Work closely with the local Major Gift Officer to facilitate their needs
  • Volunteer Appreciation:
    • Regularly communicate appreciation through personalized emails, letters, and cards to acknowledge the contributions of active volunteers.
    • Organize appreciation events and recognition initiatives to show gratitude to active volunteers.
  • Volunteer Portal Management:
    • Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager to keep VOMO (Volunteer Portal) updated with current events, opportunities, and resources.
  • Community Partnerships:
    • Identify and coordinate opportunities for volunteers to assist at trafficking shelters, support law enforcement efforts, and participate in other relevant community activities.
  • Collaboration & Outreach:
    • Work closely with the Engagement Team on miscellaneous outreach events, projects, and campaigns to further OUR Rescue's mission.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain organized records and data management using Excel, Word, and other system management tools.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire volunteers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and volunteer management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passion for the mission of OUR Rescue and a commitment to ending human trafficking and child exploitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with non-profit organizations, particularly in volunteer management.
  • Familiarity with VOMO or similar volunteer management platforms.
  • Knowledge of community resources and partnerships related to human trafficking prevention and support.

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require travel within the state/region for events and volunteer engagement.
  • Flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required to accommodate volunteer activities.
  • Occasional travel to conferences, summit meetings, and homecomings
