Job DescriptionJob DescriptionC24/7: Father’s Arms Ministries is a non-profit organization dedicated, through the power of Jesus Christ, to improving the lives of children and young adults in the North of Howard neighborhood by providing the necessary tools, security and environment for them to thrive economically, socially and spiritually. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Director of Development who wants to join our efforts to help ensure Rogers Park is reached, served, and empowered. The Director of Development is a newly created, full-time position, that reports to the Executive Director, that will create and execute a philanthropic vision to help advance our mission and grow our resources, with a particular focus on individual and foundation giving. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and success in nonprofit fundraising, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful grant writing and building relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation partners. The Director of Development will play an essential part in the growth of our programs and establishing funding for our newly acquired lot that, with successful funding, will soon become the home of our newest facility. It is a top priority that our C24/7 staff display Christ-like behavior, understanding at the heart of everything we do is discipleship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individuals, corporate partners, foundations, and churches.
  • Generate a prospect report and develop an outreach plan.
  • Research and write grant proposals, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to build relationships with donors and train the Board to make successful solicitations and open doors to prospective donors.
  • Lead Capital Campaigns, including our current one aimed toward building a new facility
  • Utilize donor management software and other tools to identify prospects, track donations, analyze fundraising data, manage relationships, and track progress towards goals.
  • Perform administrative and communications work
  • Support the Executive Assistant in coordinating community events and partnerships
  • Sustain a philanthropic spirit among board members, donors, staff, and other stakeholders.
Essential Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, a proven track record of securing 6 figure gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, and foundations is preferred.
  • Experience growing, developing and managing fundraising programs, including donor solicitation strategy, communications, donor selection and appreciation, and special events.
  • Proven ability to successfully write grants.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse group of donors and stakeholders.
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, persistent, and able to set priorities and work on numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to manage fundraising database programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique needs of our urban, diverse, community and a passion to improve the lives of our neighbors
  • Must possess a passion for C24/7’s mission.
  • Joyful follower of Jesus Christ.
Pay: $90,000.00 per year plus benefits stipend.
Experience: 5 years of comprehensive development and fundraising work
