Inked Brands is seeking a versatile Product Graphic Designer with product design experience to join our great team of product designers and artists. Inked Brands works with niche brands to scale their businesses by analyzing and optimizing product assortment for both the ecommerce and wholesale sales channels. Our team is fun, creative, and willing to take smart risks. As a Product Graphic Designer, you will support our product team in many design functions, including but not limited to illustration, lettering, layout, packaging, production design, and spec sheets. You’ll need to thrive in a collaborative work environment for this IN-OFFICE role and manage multiple projects with ease. If you enjoy working both independently and in team settings, are organized, deadline-driven, and share a love for designing and creating unique products, you’ll be set for success

 


WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

  • Immerse yourself in the brand(s) you are assigned as lead to, understanding brand purpose and identity, core customers, and product offerings/functionality.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product Design and Product Coordinators to plan and create monthly kit and retail items.
  • Work within existing style with the ability to bring new concepts to the table. 
  • Conceptualize high-level design initiatives and create presentations or briefs to be discussed with the team. 
  • Merge ideas about color, pattern, and shape into cohesive themes for products.
  • Create fresh, original designs that emulate and complement our Brand Partner's signature styles.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure quality control and design integrity of final product; work within manufacturer's specifications.
  • Produce and test product prototypes.
  • Understand technological elements and constraints.
  • Offer creative and innovative problem-solving.
  • Ensure the brand vision and identity is consistently translated in all design assets.
  • Obtain team approval by presenting final layouts and illustrations; responding to internal commentary and requests.
  • Stay current on industry trends and report recommendations to the team.
  • Assist in the creative direction of product shoots as requested.
  • Translate corporate strategies into compelling and innovative creative concepts that engage the consumer, drive traffic, sales and continue to build the brand’s relevance and desirability.
  • Contribute to and support a positive, creative, and collaborative culture.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

 

  • BA or BFA in graphic design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Mac proficient.
  • Creative and innovative mind.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in Illustrator.
  • Knowledgeable of working with production design reference sheets and adhering to vendor guidelines.
  • Previous packaging experience is a plus.
  • Seeks out and responds well to feedback and art direction and is results-oriented; flexible and able to be coached.
  • Organizational Skills– Demonstrates strong planning skills, prioritizing and managing conflicting demands to meet deadlines with high quality projects; exhibits a high degree of independence managing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
  • Communication– Superb interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.  Clear and concise written and oral communication skills; some copy writing required. Builds relationships and works collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Detail Orientation– Exhibits a high level of accuracy.
  • Change Agility– Able to navigate successfully and positively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where change occurs rapidly; Flexible, observant and learns quickly.
