We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing process. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost effective, and meet quality standards. This person will be a key player in ensuring that our products are produced on time to ensure customer satisfaction.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Oversee the performance of the production personnel.
  • Determine the amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.)
  • Identify potential problems and implement solutions to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor production to resolve issues and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage and uphold high-quality standards across all operations in production.
  • Improve productivity and efficiency through innovative strategies and implementing continuous improvement and process improvement/cost cutting kaizens. Coordinate different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets to ensure workflow meets required deadline.
  • Work with the Maintenance team to help with prioritization of tasks.
  • Ensure all operations comply with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Enforce plant health and safety procedures as well as safety policies.
  • Work with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
  • Create long-term operations planning that aligns with the company’s goals.
  • Develop and mentor the production supervision team.
  • Establish acceptable production rates for the work centers. Hold employees accountable for those production rates.
  • Inspire and motivate employees with positive encouragement.


Education/Experience:

  • Six Sigma Black belt, preferred, Green belt required.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business, Operations Management or related field.
  • Fifteen years of progressive manufacturing experience, including five years of experience leading a manufacturing team.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
  • Outstanding communication ability and excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Experience with ERP system, Plex, preferred but not required.
  • Union experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

This job supervises manufacturing department personnel
