ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, be detail-oriented, and have a deep understanding of social media platforms. This role is responsible for creating engaging content that promotes our brand, products, and experiences to a wider audience. The candidate will gain exposure to the organization's full marketing team, with opportunities to sit in on creative agency meetings and presentations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (in descending order of importance)

  1. Support the marketing team in delivering on their social media strategy, to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  2. Create, edit, and publish high-quality content (images, videos, graphics, and written posts) across various social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  3. Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media content with overall marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  4. Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications, and incorporate them into our social media strategy.
  5. Analyze social media metrics and adjust content strategies based on performance insights.
  6. Research industry trends and best practices to ensure our social media presence remains innovative and effective.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

BA/BS candidate in Marketing, Communication Studies or closely related field.


Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  2. Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn required.
  3. Knowledge of social media metrics and analytics preferred.
  4. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Strong organizational and time-management skills required.
  6. Must have evidence of education related to Marketing, Communications and/or closely related field.
  7. Must have the ability to communicate information in an organized manner, clearly and concisely.
  8. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously with an effective outcome.
  9. Must have the ability to deal with highly confidential information. Must possess strong service orientation skills in alignment with the credit union's mission and core values.
  10. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills required.
  11. Must have the ability to function in a commercial office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to fax, copier, telephone, etc. Some travel required. Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs. e.g. file boxes.
