The Operations Controller will oversee and optimize the operational activities of both a distribution center and a manufacturing plant facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, supply chain operations, and manufacturing processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to implement efficient operational strategies.

Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the distribution center and manufacturing plant to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics such as throughput, cycle times, inventory levels, and resource utilization.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize operational risks.

Logistics Management:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Ensure timely receipt and dispatch of goods, optimizing logistics networks to meet customer demands.
  • Collaborate with logistics providers to streamline operations and maintain service level agreements.

Inventory Control:

  • Oversee inventory planning, stock accuracy, and reconciliation processes.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and enforce quality control standards for both inbound materials and finished products.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and motivate a team of operations supervisors and coordinators.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to ensure team members perform at their best.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Collaborate with finance to develop and manage operational budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures without compromising quality or service levels.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment through adherence to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations management, ideally within distribution centers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant software (SAP, Oracle).

Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate across departments.
