JOB SUMMARY
The Process Development Lab Technician will support the development and optimization of viral vector processes at Genezen's Lexington site in MA. This role involves assisting with upstream and/or downstream process development activities, including cell culture, fermentation, purification, and formulation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform hands on laboratory procedures related to viral vector production and characterization
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory notebooks and records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform routine lab maintenance and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of experimental results, including data entry and basic statistical analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
- Assist in the development of general and technical SOPs and with the creation of study specific procedures
- Train new staff members and fellow hourly employees in designated processes
- Comply with all established policies and SOPs
- Participate actively in SOP revisions in coordination with supervisor and Quality Assurance
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new techniques and technologies relevant to bioprocessing and biomanufacturing
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in process development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate or B.S. degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or similar field
- 1+ years of relevant industry experience in R&D, product development, or operations
- Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills
