The Audio Services Supervisor provides leadership and guidance for staff and operations of the Audio Services department. This includes audio mixing, sound design, technical standards, and systems development & maintenance. The Audio Services Department serves all KCM, EMIC, Victory Channel and KCBC audio needs, both on and off property, including services, meetings, events and television.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees audio services department personnel.

• Responsible for all reviews of full-time staff under their supervision.

• Trains staff audio engineers and volunteer audio operators on SSL consoles.

• Sets and maintains all audio standards for capture, editing, sweetening, final mix/mastering, duplication and archiving.

• Provides requirements for sound system design, interconnection, and updates for all audio equipment used on or off property.

• Serves as audio engineer for mixes or assigns department staff for all assigned services, meeting, broadcasts and projects.

• Provide audio engineering support for projects on or off-property projects as needed.

• Monitors the maintenance of all audio systems both on property and those used for remote productions

• Informs Engineering Department of needed equipment repairs, updates or replacements.

• Supervises operation and maintenance of sound systems such as those for SuperKids, 14 Forty Junior High, 14 Forty High School, and the SLC.

• Operates, as needed, to support any productions.

• Cultivate and maintain list of qualified contract personnel to assist as needed.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Provides oversight of all assigned department employees, volunteers, and contractors. Performs reviews of staff with written evaluations, approves staff time off and schedules workload.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

• College Graduate or equivalent through demonstrated work experience

• Must have at least 20 years of experience with sound equipment management, operation, studio mixing and front-of-house mixing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have excellent command of use of SSL mixing consoles.

• Must have in depth knowledge of Dante audio technology.

• Must have an in-depth understanding of advanced signal flow and gain structure.

• Must have operating knowledge of test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital and analog voltmeters, signal pressure level meter, etc.

• Proficient with time management, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.

• Highly detail oriented. Able to think and act independently.


EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

• SSL Audio Mixing Consoles as well as consoles of all types (analog and digital), audio distribution systems (such as Dante), computers, sound mixing/control software and related plug-ins, telephones, 2-way radios, SPL Meters, real-time audio analyzer, audio effects devices and software, recording devices of all types, signal generators, and digital and analog voltmeters.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to stand in one place for a minimum of 5 hours per day.

• Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, document scanners, fax machines, calculators, and other office equipment.

• Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, reach, move and carry equipment.

• Requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools.

• Must be able to hear different audio frequencies produced from musical instruments.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.

• Requires the ability to multi-task 15 audio mixes at one time.

• Must be able to grasp and apply new ideas

• Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions.

• Must relate to and interact with people at all levels.

• Must be able to respond quickly under pressure.

• Must be able to hear different audio frequencies, analyze the frequencies to and take appropriate action to correct the problem.

• Must be able to take constructive criticism from people at every level.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The Audio Services Supervisor will be on-call and available for assistance in unforeseeable circumstances concerning the audio systems for all “on property” venues. He must work weekends and various hours in a week. He may be required to work outside in varying weather conditions.


OTHER:

• Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension and division

• Must maintain a good attendance record

• Must be a member of EMIC, regularly attend church services, and support the leadership of EMIC.

• Must be a regular tither to EMIC.

• Must possess a servant’s heart and operate as Armor Bearer.

• Sensitive to needs of others, which includes a love and commitment to the members and congregation of EMIC and Kenneth Copeland Ministries staff.

• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with diverse groups of people, considerable skill and diplomacy in communication. Ability to build effective working relationships inside and outside departments or groups.

• Self-motivated and takes initiative. Ability to react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.

• Operates with pre-emptive thinking and must be discerning and able to make good judgment calls with minimum supervision.
