We are seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our Environmental and Facilities department and work on compliance projects involving Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Hazardous Waste Compliance and Underground Storage Tank (UST) Compliance for various industrial and commercial clients. Work may include air permitting, wastewater discharge permitting, multimedia sampling, stormwater permitting and planning, Tier II reporting, TRI reporting, and more

Under the general direction of a Project Manager, this professional will primarily support the Engineering and Compliance department at Fuss and O’Neill; however, this professional will have the opportunity to work with other departments.

This position may report to our Manchester, CT or New Haven, CT office, but your location is up to you Fuss & O’Neill encourages a hybrid workplace, which means that your desk could be both in the office and at home. Key Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology or a closely related field
  • Typically requires at least 3 years of direct experience in performing environmental compliance assignments 
  • Experience with hazardous waste regulations and reporting; wastewater and permitting
  • Experience with writing stormwater pollution prevention plan, SPCC Plan
  • Experience with collecting multimedia environmental samples
  • Experience with preparing Tier II and TRI reports
  • Experience with UST compliance a plus
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD knowledge a plus


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor of Arts or better in Biology or related field.
  • Bachelor of Arts or better in Geology or related field.
  • Bachelor of Engineering or better in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor of Science or better in Environmental Science or related field.

Preferred
  • Cert Haz Materials Mgr
  • Engineer in Training
