Project Assistant

Project Assistant Description:
- Supports the program manager and project manager of a government agency’s digitalization and records management program.
- Maintains Microsoft Project WBS, conducts project scheduling, and cost, schedule, performance reporting.
- Supports operation of project PMO
- Interfaces with the federal government customer
- Assists the program manager with contract tasks, work progress, scheduling, costs, personnel assignments, work priorities, and work performance
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes reports
- Attends status meetings, prepares reports, presents plans, organizes and submits contract status reports.
- Works with program manager to resolve contractual issues which may exist
- Assists with the execution of day-to-day tasks directed at achieving the goals of the project
- Provides cost, schedule, performance status updates
- Assists with supervision and direction of all contract activities
- Investigates problems, identifies the causes, and implements solutions to correct the problems and to prevent their recurring in the future
- Ensures supervisors are monitoring work progress and making adjustments to meet key performance metrics
- Identifies operational problems or trends
- Monitors metrics and targets for service volume and timeliness
- Contributes to the development of processes and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 4 years of federal consulting experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience directly supporting project management government client contracts
- Demonstrated success assisting a team focused on meeting organizational goals, continuous improvement, and implementing human capital management strategies
- Proficiency with technology
- Knowledge and expertise in the use of computers, including email and Microsoft Office products, to include Microsoft Project expert, proficiency with Word, Excel, and Project
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Experience and knowledge to administratively maintain files, generate reports, and keep timecards
- Strong analytical skills
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation to compose written material,
- Advanced/exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
