Job Description:
The VP, Head of Retail Sales manages new partner responsibilities, investment product sales activities including Mutual Funds, Separate Accounts, Fixed Income and Private Equity, and manages the external and internal retail sales staff. Works with the CEO & COO to develop and implement the firm's annual and long-term business and sales strategies for the retail sales staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages the retail sales force and client service functions
- In conjunction with the CEO & COO, defines the annual and long-term business and sales strategies
- Develops sales plans and budgets
- Provides a minimum of one piece of valuable feedback in Threads every two weeks for a team member
- Consistently reads feedback and follows up with relevant mentoring, encouragement and accountability for individuals on team
- Ensures reviews are completed on schedule and effectively communicates reviews, compensation and standing within the organization with each team member
- Reviews and negotiates sales contracts and agreements
- Sales budgetary responsibilities including conference budgeting and expense report review/approval
- Assigns and over sees retail external and internal sales teams
- Monitors and reviews email regarding compliance for the Retail Sales team, which includes training and coaching employees
- Responsible for marketing and sales of the investment services provided by Resolute Investment Managers and its affiliates
- Monitors and enhances the quality and effectiveness of sales support efforts
- Supports and coaches underperforming Retail Sales territories to increase sales
- Mentors staff to improve sales technique and increase product knowledge
- Trains, develops and delivers sales and product training programs
- Leads initiatives with intermediaries requiring strong sales skills and product knowledge
- Assists or leads in relationship management activities with the firm's largest and/or most important accounts
- Identifies client needs and coordinates efforts to serve assigned intermediaries. Primary markets are independent broker-dealers, wirehouses and RIA's
- Reports to ownership and Mutual Fund Boards. Plays a key role in product development
- Plans and organizes Sales Meetings, Partner Meetings and/or and l Research Symposiums
- Conducts frequent conference calls with Retail Sales teams
- Provides clients with investment performance updates as well as general client servicing
- Reviews performance data, sets goals and initiatives for Retail Sales teams
- Apprises CEO & COO of overall performance (i.e., staffing or resource needs, performance and other related issues or concerns)
- Monitors and reviews email regarding compliance, which includes training and coaching employees
Requirements
- College degree in business, finance or related field is required
- NASD license series 7, 63, 24 required; CIMA, CFP or CFA preferred
- At least 15 years financial services experience in investments and mutual funds sales
- Successful record of accomplishments in bringing in new assets under management
- High degree of knowledge in the area of distribution, investments, mutual funds, ETFs, Alternatives, SMAs
- Strong rapport with clients, high degree of interpersonal skills, prior supervisory experience of sales staff, and creative thinker with excellent problem solving ability
- Strong planning, organization and analytical and technical skills are required
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently and work independently to perform a variety of tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be a team player and possess the ability to drive key decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Flexibility for business travel that includes attending investment conferences board meetings, home office visits and shareholder/prospect sales calls
