Position: Mortgage Lending Price Desk Administrator

Work Location: Lake Forest, IL

Type: In office

SUMMARY: The Price Desk Administrator is responsible for managing a mortgage pipeline through buying and selling of loans; and using knowledge of locking, hedging, loan delivery, and securitization to help achieve company goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses knowledge and experience to maximize profitability of each loan by being responsive to an ever-changing, unpredictable set of circumstances.

Reviews and confirms all lock requests within posted time frame in efficient and accurate manner.

Generates daily rate sheets with pricing model and margins provided by management.

Modifies and extends mortgage commitments; as well as verifies pricing on all lock requests and confirmations.

Commits loans with third party investors via internet, phone or email prior to daily investor deadlines.

Watches the bond market and generates updated rate sheets as needed.

Acts as primary contact for mandatory pricing and assists inbound callers with pricing registration questions and procedures.

Provides price quotes for rates not published on rate sheets, resolving price discrepancies at the time of the lock and again at time of loan purchase.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training preferred.

Mortgage lending experience is a plus.

Knowledgeable and comfortable utilizing Excel including, but not limited, inputting data, using functions, creating charts, sorting and understanding data.

Proficiency in personal computing skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, loan origination systems, etc.

Must keep up with the fast pace of market movement, volume levels, loan characteristics, and investor requirements.

Ability to show great attention to detail.

Stress tolerance required to work in a very fast-paced work environment.

Must be able to communicate within a team to accomplish administrative goals.

Ability to correspond with people outside the company in a polite and effective manner.

Ability to calculate discounts, interest, and percentages.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills to solve relevant problems.

Ability to read and interpret documents regarding loans, instructions, and deadlines.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
