POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Operation and Facilities, this position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of capital repairs and projects of all YMCA of Southwest Florida properties and facilities. Additionally, she/he manages all facility teams and maintenance activities to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and actions taken are in line with the strategic goals of YMCA of Southwest Florida as whole.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedules and oversees all maintenance related work of all properties and facilities.
  • Supervises, manages, and directs a team including Maintenance Managers, full and part time maintenance staff, custodians, housekeepers, and contract vendors according to location.
  • Ensures that all maintenance operations are done in accordance with YMCA of Southwest Florida policy and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensures the facilities satisfy all industry regulations.
  • Manages assigned budget.
  • Forecasts, orders, and negotiates expenses as related to projects for building and property needs.
  • Coordinates the completion of complex repairs.
  • Hires and oversees subcontractors for specialized needs.
  • Identifies new ways/tools/assets to improve productivity and increase efficiencies.
  • Drafts reports as needed.
  • Thoroughly inspects facilities and prepares recommendations and solutions for repair, improvement.
  • Travels to other facilities within the association as needed.
  • Ability to carry out the construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of
  • Ensures all vehicles preventive maintenance is done timely.
  • Other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Experience in project management, quality control construction, and facility operations.
  • Specialized Knowledge of:
  • Construction i.e.: Framing, drywall, flooring, finishing, roofing, locksmith task etc.
  • Plumbing (General working knowledge of all aspects of plumbing issues in a corporate building.) i.e., sinks, Faucet, toilet, etc.
  • Electrical i.e., Ballast repairs, maintain on building lighting system, cable management etc.
  • HVAC
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and general computer knowledge.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to work with SVP of Operations and Facilities to prioritize projects.
  • Ability to supervise and direct a team.
  • Knowledge to of building construction processes and procedures, equipment, tools, materials, and their application.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required
  • Annual Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training
  • Annual Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class
  • Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
  • Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
