$5,000 Hiring Bonus (Prorated by FTE)

Overview:

The Maintenance Specialist performs routine maintenance tasks: repairs drywall, preps & paints, performs light plumbing and electrical repairs, and cleans job site so it is ready for use by occupants. Performs assessment, minor repairs, and coordination of maintenance in a variety of facilities. Drives personal vehicle or agency maintenance vehicle to various worksites.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM- Serves both Medford and Grants Pass

Participation in coverage for a rotating 24-hour afterhours line is required and compensated.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in maintenance and cleaning activities to ensure that facilities are clean, safe, sanitary and conducive to the delivery of quality care.
  • Complies with safety regulations including ADA, OSHA, and state regulations.
  • Reads, tracks and completes repair work orders; Identifies and schedules needed repairs.
  • Estimates costs, time, and materials needed for repairs; Works with appropriate vendors for parts, equipment, and service.
  • Maintains equipment in maintenance van and shop; Monitors vehicle maintenance, including safety inspection documentation.
  • Tests for and diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, and makes adjustments.
  • Detects faulty equipment operation or defective material, and reports those and any unusual situations to appropriate supervisor.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service; familiarity with blue prints, wiring, and schematics preferred.
  • Safely maneuvers heavy objects, including furniture and appliances.
  • Assists with room set-up and tear down for meetings.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Monitors all buildings and sites for health and safety factors; may participate in rotating after-hour facilities emergency coverage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Executive Director.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skill and experience in both building and vehicle maintenance; Ability to work effectively and courteously with a wide variety of people.

Candidates must be able to follow and carry out verbal and written instructions. Possess business experience sufficient to meet the demands of the position, including basic computer skills.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
