The successful candidate will function within the Nurse Practice Act of the State of New Mexico, as well as the policies and procedures of Cibola General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requires current New Mexico license and current CPR certification.
  • Combination of education and experience with knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to the performance of duties assigned.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to deal tactfully with staff, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Knowledge and abilities to take care of patients on different age categories.
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required.
  • Assisting Providers in performing wound care treatments, cleansing wounds, dressing applications.
  • Assisting with care of patients of varying ages.
  • Educating patients, their family members, and healthcare staff on the products and interventions required for skin healing and maintenance.
  • Documenting and photographing skin treatments required for hospital reimbursement.
  • Proof of completion of 24 continuing education (CE) credits in basic skin/wound care and ostomy care, or within 1 year of hire.
Requirements
  • Able to work under stressful situations and respond to emergencies competently.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible, have problem-solving skills, prioritize, and demonstrate healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Potential contamination/exposure to blood-borne pathogens, body substances, biohazardous materials, and infectious diseases.
  • Able to work in a temperature-controlled hospital environment.
  • Occasional exposure to a variety of auditory and olfactory stimuli.
