NAA is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to join its team

Overview:

The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing an outreach communication strategy and creating comprehensive reports on data collected from focus groups for the National Center for Enhanced Post Adoption Support and National Center for Adoption-Competent Mental Health Services. Reporting to the National Director of Equity and Partnerships, the Community Engagement Manager will represent the programs by engaging with professionals, agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the organization’s post-adoption and mental health services. This role is remote.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, communications, or related field. Master’s degree in a related field preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement or outreach with demonstrated success in the nonprofit or government sector, preferably experience in states, territories, or tribal nations child welfare is required. Demonstrated management-level experience is required with a minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory or consultant management experience. Experience with data analysis and reporting. Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) or similar credentials is a plus. Ability to travel 1-2 times per year.

Role and Responsibilities:

Program Development & Management:

• Manages the daily activities of the community engagement strategy and process.

• Provides oversight and direction to the facilitation consultants.

• Designs, implements, and manages community engagement programs and initiatives that support the organization’s mission and goals.

• Collaborates across the organization and with partner organizations to ensure project timeline and appropriate support is provided.

• Ensures community engagement programs are aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of community engagement programs and makes necessary adjustments.

• Ensures adherence with grant requirements including reporting, budgeting, and deliverables.

• Ensures that all community engagement activities are inclusive and culturally sensitive.

• Partners with cross functional teams to improve project tools and systems.

• Attends meetings with the National Director of Equity and Partnerships to gather necessary information to provide project tracking.

• Manages special projects as assigned.

Community Engagement:

• Develops, manages, and regularly updates a community engagement strategy designed to develop trusting relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Consults on best practices for community engagement, helping to design effective opportunities for community members to provide insights and share their experiences.

• Conducts research on best practices for community engagement and provides sound recommendations that will best strengthen the program.

• Serves as a primary contact for community insights for internal and external partners.

• Provides information and resources to families and professionals.

• Builds and maintains good relationships with consultants, external stakeholders, nonprofit organizations, and community-based organizations.

• Responds to concerns/complaints (internal and/or external) in a professional and timely manner; refers concerns/complaints to immediate supervisor, when appropriate; maintains composure at all times.

Outreach & Education:

• Develops, manages, and regularly updates strategies to engage and educate about data findings.

• Works with consultants, partners, grantees, and/or vendors as needed to implement outreach strategies.

• Collaborates with internal and external partners to develop outreach and educational goals that best fit the needs of the recipients of the program.

• Interacts with diverse populations and understands the cultural contexts that affect child welfare.

• Promotes an environment of respect, equity, and inclusion within the organization and the community.

• Conducts outreach efforts to raise awareness of the program’s services and offerings.

• Represents the organization at workshops and training sessions.

• Prepares and delivers presentations to various audiences.

• Assists in the development of educational materials and resources for post-adoptive families and professionals.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepares regular reports and documentation on data to present findings and recommendations to sites and leadership for execution.

• Creates comprehensive data reports and presentations of themes to communicate the impact on recipients.

• Reviews data of programs that impact DEI disparities across child welfare.

• Monitors the effectiveness of community engagement strategies through data and document observations and findings.

• Conveys data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Notes:

Work is expected to be performed remotely with the requirement of travel 1-2 times per year within the US for meetings. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends. NAA conducts background checks on all employees. This position is grant funded and is contingent on the award of continuation grant funds.

Benefits and Compensation:

The Community Engagement Manager salary is $80,000.
