Position: Design Automation Engineer
Location: Onsite in Memphis, TN
Work Authorization: GC and USC Only

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement engineering and manufacturing changes to automate Solidworks solid models via Configit Engineering platform.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and data sheets.
  • Work under general supervision, following limited instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Use basic programming to configure elevator systems based on engineering documentation.
  • Test and debug automation content outputs from the design automation application.
  • Maintain/develop department-owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documents.
  • Support and implement enhancements to the design automation application and supporting interfaces.
  • Assist in developing design validation models and configurations for new product development projects.
  • Support engineering and Customer Service Center in writing configuration rules related to design automation.
  • Work in a team environment with engineers, configurators, and representatives from sales and IT.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company safety standards.
  • Follow the corporate compliance policy and ensure responsible professional behavior in the workplace.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

  • 5+ years of design and drafting experience in an architectural, structural, or mechanical design environment.
  • Intermediate understanding of bills of material, manufacturing, and product structures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend technical documents.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Solidworks is required.
  • Experience using PLM/PDM software such as Windchill, SolidWorks PDM, ENOVIA, etc.
  • Basic programming logic and syntax knowledge (Visual BASIC or JavaScript preferred).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with limited instruction from the manager to meet project deadlines.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other related engineering field, or 5+ years of equivalent Solidworks or Design Experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting approximately 80% of the time.
  • Walking/standing 20% of the time.
  • Manual dexterity for use of required equipment and computer.
  • Audible/visual abilities.
