Scope & Purpose

It is theRecertification Specialist's responsibility to ensure the accurate and timely completionof all required tasks, which includes the following:

Responsibilities

  • · Complete daily task of processing recertification in a timely manner.
  • · Book and adhere to appointments made with residents to complete their recertification. Maintain compliance by processing recertification's 60-90 days out.
  • · Have a working knowledge of the HUD 4350.3 and the Virginia Housing Low-IncomeTax Credit State Compliance Manual.
  • · Adhere to CS American Managements Electronic file review policy for Compliance oversighton the recertification.
  • · Ensure compliance with program regulatory requirements (e.g., LIHTC, Section 8, and otherprograms), and Fair Housing Standards.
  • · Work collaboratively with property management and compliance, as well as internal andexternal agency service providers.
  • · Maintain occupancy and program compliance by processing tenant certifications whilefollowing CS American Managements policy and procedure as well as local, state, and federalregulations.
  • · Run and Review Enterprise Income Verification System (EIV) reports and resolvediscrepancies when necessary.
  • · Respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • · Demonstrate a caring and positive attitude toward all prospects and residents.
  • · Stay current and knowledgeable on all fair housing regulations as well as updates and changesto tenant landlord law and program changes
  • · Attend all recommended/mandated training or certification courses to stay current withcompliance funding source regulations and fair housing laws.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Property Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in property management, with a focus on affordable housing and tenant recertifications.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
