Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall audit strategy in alignment with the organization's objectives and risk profile.

  • Advise the executive team and audit committee on audit-related matters and present regular audit reports and findings.

  • Provide thought leadership on emerging audit trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive audit plan covering financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits.

  • Ensure audit activities are conducted in accordance with professional standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Review and approve audit workpapers, findings, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.

  • Conduct and oversee regular risk assessments to identify and prioritize areas for audit focus.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.

  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance controls, mitigate risks, and improve business processes.

  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and adjust audit practices accordingly.

  • Engage with regulatory bodies and external auditors as needed.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing internal audit team.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the audit department.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for audit staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide guidance on risk management and internal controls.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on governance, risk, and control issues.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical behavior across the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in internal auditing, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and risk management practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive audit strategies and plans.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity.
  • Proficiency with advanced audit management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and make strategic decisions under pressure.
