Job Summary: Support and expand Maitri’s Outreach & Prevention Program. Responsibilities include coordination and implementation of Outreach and Prevention Program activities aiming to raise awareness of healthy relationships and gender equity. The Coordinator will work as part of the Outreach & Prevention team to create campaigns, bring in participants, and assist in all community and youth engagement activities relevant to the program. The role requires a passion for the cause against gender-based violence, and motivation and enthusiasm to work with primarily South Asian communities including the youth population on factors that will prevent violence and enable healthy relationships.

Role Responsibilities
  • Increase organizational visibility through maintenance of the website.
  • Provide tech support to increase Maitri’s online presence: handling webinars, creating digital fliers/ surveys, editing (audio/ video), and collecting stats from digital platforms.
  • Increase in-person outreach opportunities in South Asian community events by identifying opportunities for information booths, community presentations, Holiday Giving trees, and engagements.
  • Coordinate all booth activities including locating opportunities, coordination with volunteers and event organizers, managing booth collateral and attending booths as needed
  • Engage volunteers, staff, and outside stakeholders to run prevention activities and campaigns among different population groups (in-person & online).
  • Support the team in maintaining relationships with community stakeholders, and volunteers through in-person communication, phone, email, and webinars
  • Assist supervisor in organizing Maitri events, and campaigns (in-person and online) to raise awareness against domestic violence, gender-based violence, and related issues.
  • Expand Maitri’s outreach in the youth community by engaging youth with community campaigns and events.
  • Represent Maitri in community forums and stakeholder meetings as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain respectful working relationships with the staff team and support all agency activities and events as needed.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of records and timely reporting of activities undertaken including program outcomes, surveys, and others as needed.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as assigned
  • Uphold and maintain Maitri’s Leadership Principles Framework in all behavior and interactions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of specific work experience related to the responsibilities outlined for this position, or in related fields working with different community groups; candidates making a change of career with no related field experience must have at least 3-4 years of other work experience using the required skills for this position
  • Knowledge and experience in website maintenance, using social media, and audio-video editing.
  • Strong communication skills including writing and public speaking abilities required. Speaking a South Asian language is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with current and prospective stakeholders, volunteers, partner agencies, multi-cultural clients, and colleagues on all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in creating digital flyers and marketing emails using online graphic design tools and mass mail software tools.
  • Must be strongly motivated to work with different community groups to engage them with Maitri campaigns and activities.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects and deadlines in a multi-tasking environment and ability to handle pressure well will be a huge plus.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain individual responsibilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy, as well as problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule on a need basis and to complete tasks on hand. Occasionally working on weekends and weeknights is a requirement.
  • Ability to carry upto 20lbs of weight (such as booth box/items to events).
  • Commitment to Maitri's mission, vision, and values.
  • Work Authorization for USA required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to use personal vehicle for transporting outreach collateral and materials to in-person events, as needed.

We provide an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K, paid vacation and sick time off. Hourly Rate Range: $26 - $28 (commensurate with relevant experience).
