Title: Parking Supervisor

Position: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Job Location: San Jose, CA

Reports to: Senior Manager, Parking

Pay Range: $24.11-$27.07

Job Overview

The Parking Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily parking operations at the designated facility, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for guests. The role involves collaboration with department heads, effective delegation of tasks, staff management, and meticulous attention to detail in financial tracking and event planning. The Parking Supervisor plays a critical role in optimizing parking resources, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining a high level of service.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate seamlessly with department heads to optimize team performance and achieve shared objectives.
  • Strategically delegate tasks during staff deployments to parking positions, ensuring efficiency and adherence to established protocols.
  • Assists the Senior Parking Manager in recruiting, assessing, training, mentoring, counseling, and recommending necessary actions for staff, aligning decisions with established policies.
  • Assists the Senior Parking Manager in efficiently handling employment documents, including hiring and termination paperwork, fostering a streamlined and compliant process with HR policies.
  • Create monthly employee schedules for daily operations and special events, ensuring optimal coverage for parking positions. Prepare color-coded receipt rolls and devices for all parking cashier positions.
  • Strategically position parking staff to streamline guest parking ingress and egress, prioritizing critical areas for optimal service. Conduct reconciliation of all parking cashier sales, generating accurate financial records.
  • Compile physical recap sheets and distribute email recaps to relevant personnel, ensuring comprehensive communication.
  • Input crucial data into financial tracking and sales optimization spreadsheets, contributing to accurate reporting.
  • Audit employee time clock (ABI) records, promptly addressing any discrepancies to maintain accuracy. Prepares event labor estimates.
  • Assist in coordinating traffic control SJPD personnel for events. Effectively communicate payroll issues with the Payroll team.
  • Occasionally conduct attendant briefings, emphasizing specific event requirements and ensuring team readiness.
  • With guidance from the Senior Parking Manager, efficiently manage breaks for team members in accordance with CA wage and hour laws and regulations.
  • Oversee primary ABC lot ingress, assessing capacity, ADA accessibility, restriction counts, and devising contingency plans for seamless guest access.Assists in traffic and crowd control activities.
  • Stay informed about the upcoming events schedule, proactively anticipating staffing needs for efficient and successful parking operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Parking Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in parking or event management.
  • Capability to train and mentor parking attendants, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in performing simple calculations for inventory updates and prepaid sales status reports, ensuring accurate communication with the Senior Parking Manager.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficient in using relevant software for financial tracking and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of traffic control procedures and crowd management.
  • Ability to accurately record parking transactions, monitor parking areas for compliance with regulations, and report any issues or incidents promptly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Familiarity with ADA regulations and accessibility requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
